D-4: Final Rest Day
It’s Monday, November 17. It’s public holiday in Czech Republic. Today is the last day when I can rest before the knee surgery. No people, no expectations, no nothing. Just peace and quiet by myself.
The next three days are working days which will require my full attention. It feels like when you are leaving for holidays, tying up the loose ends, hoping that nothing catches on fire at the last minute so you won’t stress over it on the airplane. Some of the loose ends are quite stressful for me. I got the most stressful one moved to Tuesday, so it should be done tomorrow. And then? Smooth sailing? Difficult to say. Something got fucked up almost every day for the last three months.
But hey, in the end it’s just work. There are more important things in the world. In my world. So if it doesn’t work out perfectly… it doesn’t really matter that much.
Today, I made some nice lunch, did some laundry and watched some TV. The Morning Show Season 4 is pretty good.
Most importantly, I started thinking about what I will do after I recover. It’s really good to think about the future and think about plans. There will be something that I can look forward to. There’s probably going to be a lot of hiking and running. I made a list of possible races I could go to. It’s kinda hard to predict the recovery timeline, so we’ll see how that goes.
No bad thoughts today. This was a good day so far.
But first things first. I still need to buy some things at the pharmacy.
